An Emeritus Professor is appointed by the Council of the University in accordance with Regulation 12: Honours and Prizes.
Honorary researchers contribute to the research activities of the University on a non-stipendiary basis. Honorary researchers are academic appointments and are made by the Dean of Research Strategy in accordance with the Academic Staff Policy of the Academic Board.

The University of Divinity welcomes applications for new honorary researcher appointments at any time.
Your application will be considered by the Dean of Research Strategy and you will be notified of the outcome shortly thereafter.
How to apply: new to the University
If you are new to the University of Divinity or do not currently have ARK or Divinity Forms access, please contact the Research Coordinator for the college with which you are seeking to affiliate as an honorary researcher. The Research Coordinators can be found through the list of Colleges and Schools. Your discussions with a Research Coordinator will allow them to apply for access to the online application form.
How to apply: existing honorary researchers and current UD staff
For existing honorary researchers and current UD staff with ARK and Divinity Forms access, please discuss your application with the Research Coordinator at your college. For your application, complete and submit the online Honorary Researcher Application form.
