The forms of academic dress at the University enhance the reputation of its awards and
honour the academic achievements of its members.
If you are attending the ceremony to receive your award, you must wear the correct academic dress (regalia) for the award you are receiving, regardless of any other awards you may already have. Anyone not wearing correct academic dress will not be permitted to participate in the ceremony. What you wear under your regalia is up to you, but as this is a formal occasion we encourage you to choose suitably smart attire.
You can check the regalia for your award in the University’s Academic Dress Policy.
Where to hire/purchase regalia
About 3 weeks prior to the graduation ceremony, you will receive information from the University regarding options for hiring of regalia.
Regalia can also be purchased from a number of different providers, including G.H. Lilley.
Regalia for Alumni
Alumni of the University can contact G.H. Lilley to purchase the regalia for their award outside of upcoming graduation ceremony dates.
