This page provides resources for academic staff involved in the development and approval of units of study at the University of Divinity. For further information or to request improvements, please contact your College’s Academic Dean or the University’s Academic Programs department.
Units
A unit is a discrete quantum of study organised around a topic that contributes to a course of study leading to an award of the University. A list of units offered at the University for the current year is available online at: units.divinity.edu.au
Copies of approved Unit Records may be obtained from your College’s Academic Dean or the Dean of Academic Programs.
Unit Development and Approval
Unit Policy – the policy approved by the Academic Board which governs the development, approval and review of units. Unit approval requires completion of review by an academic external to the College responsible for the unit, the endorsement of a unit by a College Academic Committee, and approval by the Dean of Academic Programs.
Unit Record – the form approved under the Unit Policy for the development, approval and recording of units. This form is located in the UMS.
Unit point value and expected word counts changed in 2019 and 2020. Information about the changes can be found in an article on Vox online.
Unit Reviewers
Unit Reviewers must complete a brief training course and assessment to receive accreditation. A list of accredited Unit Reviewers is available below. Persons wishing to be accredited as Unit Reviewers should ask a College to add them to the “Unit Reviewer Professional Accreditation” site in ARK, the University’s Learning Management System.
